When we first got engaged we set up this blog as the quickest way to put information online for people.  It soon became apparent that this wordpress blog wasn’t going to be able to do everything that we need it to.  We kept it live in case it would be handy for passing out any information – but it just isn’t that handy, so the plan is not to use this anymore and anything else will be on the main Wedding Website.  Soon to include the gift list which we have been getting ready over the past few days.

Weekend

Busy busy weekend, loads of driving for G (thanks for that), amazing scenery, met some lovely people and got one more step closer to finalising the essential ingredients for our wedding day. Oh and it’s less than 3 months now!

This looks like a good idea…

The Date!

The 12th February 2011

We have set a date for our wedding… I have to be honest I didn’t think that this stage of organizing would be so tricky but there are so many people and places that have to be in place before it can be settled.  So we have the Church, the minister, reception venue, key wedding party people, etc.

Next thing is to try to let those people who have further to come or more to organize when our wedding will take place so they can start to figure out if they will be coming or not.  Those messages have included a link to this site – so welcome, nice to meet you.

Engagment Party

Wow – Friday 3rd September 2010 we threw a small gathering to celebrate our Engagement.  It was great fun with lots of good friends, lots and lots of champagne (or other fizzy wine), non-fizzy wine, gin, cider, nibbles….  a great night so thanks to all who came.  Also, thanks for all the cards, presents and congratulations we’ve both been getting.  We have been blown away by how pleased people are for us and it is really appreciated.

The Engagement Ring

A quick word about our engagement ring (is it ‘ours’ our just ‘hers’?).  It was important to me to have the ring before proposing and having something to put on her hand – of course as it turned out I didn’t manage to get the right size so it didn’t fit onto her finger, but hey, I tried.

After looking around for a while I finally found something I really liked and unique (or at least rare).  I got it online from a Scottish jewelery designer.
